Make Like Lewis and Clark on New 2015 AdventureWomen Canoeing Trip

BOZEMAN, MONTANA — As Memorial Day approaches in 2015, women can book a rare opportunity to follow in the footsteps of two of America’s greatest pioneers: Lewis and Clark. AdventureWomen, a company which specializes in group adventures for women over 30 traveling solo, is offering a brand new “glamping” (glamorous camping) adventure that lets women paddle in replica canoes while staying overnights in private tents in Montana.

The company’s Lewis & Clark Canoeing and Glamping trip, which runs September 6-12, 2015 and was named a USA Today Best New Adventure Trip for 2015, sends women canoeing Montana’s Missouri River toward its headwaters for five days as they pass white sandstone cliffs, the Missouri River Breaks and see views that are nearly unchanged from the early 1800s. In the evenings, travelers stay in private camps with a kitchen, 2-person tents with cots, self-inflating sleeping pads and more.

The Lewis and Clark Expedition traveled up the Missouri River and into territory far beyond where any white men had dared go before them. The expedition covered more miles in what is now Montana than in any other future state, accounting for more than one-fourth of the total exploration.

“If rivers could talk, the Missouri River would tell a story few other rivers could match, especially about Lewis and Clark’s journey. The scope and adventure of their adventure is unmatched in American history and ranks among major explorations of the world,” says Susan Eckert, founder and owner of AdventureWomen, who also calls Montana home. “What a unique opportunity to not only learn more about our great country, but to truly experience the journey of two brave explorers first hand and imagine what it would have felt like to be part of that first expedition.”

The Lewis and Clark canoeing trip for women starts at $2995 per person and can be reserved by visiting www.AdventureWomen.com or calling 800-804-8686.
