Day 1

Arrive in Santiago, Chile

Arrive at the Santiago International Airport, Chile (SCL) any time after 1:00 PM today. There will be one group transfer to your hotel where you can enjoy a 3:00 PM early check-in. If you arrive later during the day, a private transfer can be arranged for an additional cost.

After you unwind and recharge at the hotel, embark on an unforgettable experience as you tour the lively and bohemian Lastarria neighborhood. Stroll through its charming streets, soak up the artistic atmosphere, and discover hidden gems along the way.

As the sun sets, prepare to tantalize your taste buds with a delectable welcome dinner at Ambrosia, the renowned restaurant of Carolina Bazán, hailed as the best chef in all Latin America. Get ready for an evening of culinary delight and warm Chilean hospitality.

Day 2

Santiago

Drive 1.5 to 2 hours to Lo Abarca for a captivating tour of Casa Marin Vineyard where you’ll also have the unique opportunity to meet María Luz Marin, a trailblazer in the Chilean wine industry. María Luz is the first female winemaker and winery owner in Chile. With a degree in agronomy and winemaking from the University of Chile, she has revolutionized the industry. In 2000, she founded the first cool climate winery in South America and along the Pacific Coast, gaining international acclaim for her high-quality wines. Here are some tour highlights:

Day 3

Pucón 

Board an 80-minute flight from Santiago to Temuco, and then proceed to Pucón with a 1-hour and 40-minute drive.

In the afternoon, head to Villarrica Lake for a sunset kayak or stand-up paddleboard adventure around La Peninsula. Enjoy the stunning views of the Villarrica volcano, unique rock formations, native forests, and birdwatching opportunities. As the sun sets over the lake, return to your hotel with unforgettable memories of this Pucón experience.

Dinner is on your own tonight. If you wish, savor some of the finest Chilean signature cuisine at the hotel’s restaurant.

Day 4

Pucón – Lagos Andinos

Explore Villarrica National Park with a visit to Curarrehue Women’s Cooperative. Discover the cooperative’s textile and woodwork, savor Araucaria pine nuts, and explore fair trade crafts. Trek through picturesque landscapes, including lagoons and Araucaria forests, with Lanin Volcano as your backdrop.

Enjoy a gourmet boxed lunch in nature before returning to the hotel with unforgettable memories of Villarrica National Park’s natural wonders and cultural treasures.

Pucón – Mapuche Heritage

Day 6

Pucón to Puerto Varas: Scenic Journey Along Los Lagos

After breakfast, start your captivating journey from Pucón to Puerto Varas, tracing the enchanting Los Lagos scenic route. As you wind your way through this picturesque landscape, you’ll be treated to breathtaking vistas of pristine lakes, lush forests, and towering volcanoes. Stop for local cuisine, photography, and cultural immersion.

Arrive in the charming town of Puerto Varas, where you can check-in at your hotel, relax, and reflect on the beauty of this remarkable region.

Day 7

Puerto Natales

After breakfast, get ready for your Patagonian adventure as you fly to Puerto Natales airport.

Immerse yourself in the flavors of the region at a local restaurant where you can enjoy a delightful brunch.

After brunch, embark on a leisurely stroll alongside the serene Puerto Natales Bay, where the sounds of water and the fresh sea breeze set the perfect tone for your upcoming journey.

Embark on a picturesque 1.5-hour drive to the iconic Torres del Paine. Along the way, enjoy the Patagonian vistas, with ranches and sweeping landscapes.

After checking in at your hotel, enjoy a hearty dinner featuring the culinary delights of the region.

Day 8

Torres Del Paine National Park

After breakfast, start today’s adventure with a scenic drive through the national park visiting Nordenskjold Lake and Pehoe Lake. At Pehoe lake, embark on a 1-hour hike to reach Los Condores, one of the most beautiful viewpoints in Torres del Paine. Marvel in the spectacular 360° panoramic view of the whole Paine mountain range, Laguna Honda, Sarmiento and Verde.

Lunch will be served at the Pehoe Lake camp’s restaurant.

In the afternoon, head to Laguna Azul, with a stop at the captivating Cascada Paine. Located on the east side of Torres del Paine, Cascada Paine is known for its exceptional views of the park’s iconic towers. At Laguna Azul, enjoy an easy one-hour hike, reaching a spectacular view of the blue waters of the lagoon. Transfer back to your lodge.

Prior to dinner, Ms. Irlanda Mora Rosales, a glaciologist and expert in mountain environments, will offer insights into tomorrow’s activities including the quest for the Patagonian Dragon, a mysterious creature rumored to roam icy landscapes, and the measurement of Grey Glacier’s retreat.

Enjoy a delightful dinner as a group and a comfortable night at the lodge.

Overnight: Kau Rio Serrano Lodge

Day 9

The Grey Glacier

After breakfast, you will transfer to Grey Lake, where you’ll embark on a 1-hour journey aboard the Grey III catamaran to reach the Bigfoot Patagonia basecamp. At the basecamp, your guides will provide details about the glacier tour, and ensure that equipment is properly adjusted for each passenger.

Next, travel by Zodiac boat to the western side of the Grey Glacier, where a 1-hour walk will take you to the glacier’s icy expanse. Before setting foot on the glacier, your guide will provide a safety briefing, covering essential aspects and explaining the techniques for navigating the ice, as well as the proper usage of equipment. Your exploration of the Grey Glacier will last around 3 hours.

In the afternoon, return to the Grey III catamaran for a mesmerizing 2-hour cruise across the enchanting lake, surrounded by icebergs. The boat will navigate to the very edge of the glacier, allowing you to savor breathtaking scenery from the deck while enjoying a refreshing pisco sour served with ice from the glacier itself! After this unforgettable experience, return to the hotel for dinner.

Day 10

Patagonian Ranch and “Baqueanas” women

Following breakfast, transfer to a local ranch and meet a new generation of “Baqueanas” women. Born in Magallanes, they live a rural life working with horses. By assisting their grandparents and fathers with fieldwork, their passion for the countryside was ignited at a young age. Baqueanas women have dedicated themselves wholeheartedly to this unique way of life in rural Patagonia. You will learn about their connection to horses and their deep reverence for nature.

Delight in a 2-hour horseback riding excursion, exploring the picturesque landscapes. Following the ride, indulge in a lunch featuring a traditional Patagonian BBQ, known as “Asado al Palo.”

Conclude the day with a memorable farewell dinner, celebrating the experiences and bonds forged during your time in Patagonia. Reminisce over all the memories you have made and celebrate the end of an amazing journey through this truly spectacular country.

Day 11

Return to Santiago

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight back to Santiago. Lunch is at your leisure today.

Upon arrival in Santiago, you’ll be transferred to your hotel where you can relax and enjoy dinner on your own.

Day 12

Depart Santiago

Commence your day with a hearty breakfast before embarking on a panoramic tour of Santiago, featuring a visit to the Pre-Columbian Museum. This tour will last approximately 4 hours.

The afternoon is at your disposal to explore the charming Lastarria neighborhood once more, indulge in any last-minute shopping, or simply savor the ambiance of Santiago.

Transfer as a group to the Santiago International Airport (SCL) for your departure. Flights can be scheduled anytime after 5 PM. If you prefer an earlier departure, a private transfer can be arranged for an additional cost.

Arrive: Arrive in Santiago, Chile (SCL) on October 27, 2025 after 1:00 pm.

Depart: Depart Santiago, Chile (SCL) on November 7, 2025 at any time.

We are happy to help you make your flight and travel arrangements. If you’d like to do anything prior to or following the AdventureWomen trip, we’d be delighted to help you arrange any trip extensions you’re interested in.

Note: The recent trend in travel is for travelers to finalize their plans much closer to departure time than was customary in the past. While we try to be as flexible as possible booking last-minute registrants, we must release hotel rooms two to three months prior to departure! Please keep this in mind when making your travel plans.

Gratuities  

Gratuities are a personal decision and are at your own discretion based on your level of satisfaction with the service provided. Gratuities are dependent upon the number of guests on your departure, and they vary greatly from trip to trip. As a general reference, AdventureWomen suggests you plan for $440-$450 (or more) worth of gratuities for this adventure. Specific tipping recommendations for your trip will be provided to you closer to your departure date and may fluctuate due to inflation, exchange rates, and the number of travelers on your trip. 

Passports and Visas

Citizens of the United States must have a passport valid for six months beyond your travel dates with at least two blank facing pages. If you do not have a passport, please apply now!

US Passport holders will need a visa to visit Sri Lanka. We will provide detailed information before your departure on how to obtain your visa.

Activity Level

We rate this trip as Active. Our Active adventures get you on your feet. You should be in good physical condition and be prepared to hike for up to five hours, multiple days in a row, on uneven surfaces with some steep ascents and descents. Please note that this is a general description of what you might encounter; for specific details about your trip, please consult the itinerary.

Forms and Final Payment

The deposit for this trip is $800. You can transfer your deposit to another trip with no additional fee if you notify us within 120 days of the original trip departure date. We can hold your deposit for up to six months as a credit. Failure to book a new trip within this timeframe will result in the forfeiture of your deposit.

Remota Hotel

Remota Hotel is a world-class refuge in the vast Patagonia, where visitors are attended with dedication and concern for their interests.
