Namibia Safari: What Adventure Women Are Saying

In May 2015, we hosted an exciting and inspirational adventure travel safari in Namibia, Southern Africa. Spectacular scenery, desert-adapted wildlife, wonderful Namibian people, a great guide, all combined to make this experience one of the most memorable and magnificent safaris we have ever done. Namibia is quite possibly the most stunning and uniquely beautiful African country that we’ve ever traveled in!

Here are a few photos and quotes from the Adventure Women on our Namibia safari:

Thank you so much for putting together what was definitely one of my favorites. The cheetahs were such a special experience.  I have been asked numerous times what my favorite experience on the trip was. I tell them about tracking the rhinos.  It is so rare to be given that opportunity. It was a fantastic trip. I would have to say one of your best. Cape Town was wonderful. -Ellen B.

Namibia and Cape Town was such a awesome trip….it was like all of the National Geo magazine photos came alive….all of those lion cubs, hyenas and elephants in the water hole….zebra rolling around in the dust….cheetahs….the most beautiful landscapes that I have ever seen….of course all of those great South African wines, and the wine country was so beautiful with the change of season colors….definitely one of my top five trips… – Sharon G.

I loved Capetown and the wine area! Loved all the sites on this trip, but my highlight will always be feeding the Cheetahs. – Dee H.

I love Africa! To have the opportunity to hike up and down the tallest sand dunes in the world and then see the spectacular Africa wildlife was a dream come true.

The trip to Namibia was amazing!  The vast and varied landscapes we saw from the air and on land: the sand dunes of the Sossusvlei; the rocky desert of Damaraland where we were able to get close to black rhinos in a land where they have always lived; and the salt pan/savannah of Etosha/Ongava where we got such fabulous waterhole sightings of lions and elephants along with oryx, kudu, springbok, giraffe, zebra, impala, warthogs, hartebeest, white and black rhinoceros, hornbills, ostriches, etc.  Great camps with comfortable accommodations, good food, and friendly staff.  Meeting the cheetah!  And the Capetown extension was just as wonderful only with more historic and cultural elements.   Great scenery along the coast and in the wine country.   And penguins too. – Diane S.

The trip re-affirmed how much I love safaris!  I’m not a morning person, but I’ll happily get up at 5 A.M. to go on a game drive.  And it doesn’t get much better than waiting for the evening’s first glimpse of the Southern Cross while sipping a sundowner gin and tonic.  People wonder why I keep going back to Africa but with all the wonderful experiences I’ve had on my African trips I know I’m going to have to go back at least once more.  Thank you again for another unforgettable adventure! -Diane S.

The trip was so great. I would go on it again tomorrow, if it were offered.  Truly unique and a lot of fun, good food, and great sights. – Kay M.
