Top 5 BEST Excuses for NOT Going Skiing with AdventureWomen Debunked

August 24, 2013

Talking to women on the telephone about our BEST Downhill Ski Clinic in Montana, we’ve heard lots of questions, concerns and worries about:

1. Not knowing how to ski and feeling awkward and embarrassed about falling down in front of everyone…

Gayle Hagins writes of her first time skiing experience: “At the age of 58 I had never been on snow skis in my life, but had always dreamed of swishing down the slopes. With superb [women] instructors, I was able to fulfill my dream and ended my first clinic with sking a blue run without falling down!”

Actually, you can be a first time skier (never been on skis before), an advanced skier, or anything in between. We will have an instructor for you, based on YOUR ability level, and you’ll be put into a group with women who are of your skiing ability.

Ages range from 30s – ???

Actually, the average age is about 58. Our oldest participant was Elizabeth Rouse in 2011, and she is a firecracker! She came on our Peru trip in 2012 and one participant commented, “”What an inspiration to all of us! One tough lady and delightful. We all hope to be doing trips at 79!”  And participated in the Caribbean trip in 2013, “Going on 80 and just learned to snorkel!” Elizabeth was riding the “cold smoke” with us at age 77!

3. It’s too cold… I’d rather be in the Caribbean!

Wouldn’t we all! However, our hotel offers hot tubs and a sauna, sure to ease any aches and chills from a day spent on the mountain.

4. It’s awfully expensive, isn’t it?

Where can you have a week’s worth of skiing instruction (morning lessons and afternoon guided skiing), single rooms for all and hearty breakfasts at a wonderful hotel, all of your equipment rental and lift tickets, transportation to and from the ski area, and MORE, for such a reasonable price! We have the MOST ALL-INCLUSIVE ski package offered to women, and it’s an incredible value!

5. I only ski for the après ski

One of the favorite parts of apres ski on this trip is the great selection of restaurants for dinners in Bozeman. Great food, great drinks, and lots of laughs at the end of the day! AND our hotel offers a free shuttle into town…

And we’ll leave you with another participant comment that says it all:

“My best memory is how [this ski week] made me feel. It exhilarated me so much that I returned the very next year for my second clinic. Have been unable to return since, but WILL come back!”

I feel great!!
