Arrive in beautiful Buenos Aires and transfer as a group to your hotel. Delve right into this fascinating city on a highlights tour down the widest avenue in the world, into the colorful La Boca neighborhood, through the famous Plaza de Mayo, and to the memory-filled Evita Museum. During an interactive culinary adventure, learn how to create your own empanada, sip local Malbec wines, make your own alfajores, a beloved dessert, and learn to prepare mate, the country’s national tea. Estancia Ranch and Buenos Aires Tango Lesson

Head westward into the heart of the pampas plains, home to the traditions of the legendary gaucho. Flight to Mendoza, Independent City Exploration

Depart on a morning flight to Mendoza, a serene city set at the foot of the Andes, surrounded by vineyards and more than 1,000 wineries. Check into your hotel and enjoy lunch and the afternoon to explore on your own, perhaps visiting the National Museum of Wine or joining the locals among the gardens and fountains of the huge Parque General San Martin. Gather for a group dinner this evening.

Hike an Andes Trail in Quebrada del Durzano

Rise and shine and head west toward the snow-capped peaks of the High Andes for an unforgettable adventure. Drive through ever-changing landscapes, past the ski resort of Penitentes, and stop at the Puente del Inca natural arch. In the hikers’ paradise of Quebrada del Duranzo, embark on a five-mile roundtrip trek— a visual feast of the valleys, vineyards, and lakes below and the dramatic summit of Aconcagua above. Follow the trails along the Horcones River, stopping for a wayside lunch, and reveling in the light crisp air and sheer scale of the vistas. Return to Mendoza for dinner together.

Mendoza River Rafting and Canopy Ziplining

Prepare to get carried away today—literally—on water and in the air! First, head to Potrerillos and gear up for an exciting rafting foray through the Class II waters of the Mendoza River, paddling past landmarks with storied names like Labyrinth, Camel’s hump, and Condor’s nest. After lunch, switch out your wetsuit for a harness and gloves and soar along a six-zipline cable circuit that reaches heights of 130 feet. “Fly” above the Potrerillos Dam and across a 1,500-foot span of the Mendoza River, surrounded by spectacular mountain views. Return to the city and celebrate your inner adventuress over dinner.

Buenos Aires City Exploration

Welcome to Uruguay! Explore Colonia del Sacramento

Cross the Rio de la Plata by ferry and step into Uruguay’s oldest city, and UNESCO World Heritage Site, Colonia del Sacramento. Join your guide for a city exploration, following the picturesque cobblestone Calle de los Suspiros, “street of sighs,” lined with original houses built more than 250 years ago. Walk through the parklike Plaza Mayor, visit Uruguay’s oldest church, and view the lighthouse rising 112 feet above the old town. Arrive in Puerto Iguazu, Argentina’s gateway to dazzling Iguazu Falls and ancient indigenous Guarani communities. Your adventure begins at the entrance of Iguazu National Park with a jungle train ride to the Upper Circuit walking trail and its exhilarating overlooks across the fabled falls. Follow a boardwalk built right above the edge of the powerful cascades and cross zig-zagging footbridges with stunning viewpoints of the 275 cataracts. In a nearby village you’ll engage with the Tekoa Yriapu people, who share insights into their cultural rituals, ingenious centuries-old survival techniques, and deep spiritual connection to the environment. Join in a forest walk along a generations-old trail, and mingle with the artisans whose intricate woodworking and basket crafts provide a vital source of income.

Absolutely! We happily welcome all women regardless of race, creed, or sexual preference, as long as you are physically capable of doing the activities on your chosen trip. Our guests range from 18-85+! It is important to us to talk to each guest to make sure each woman chooses the right trip for her physical ability and interest.

You can process your registration on our online booking system or over the phone. Most deposits are $800. In many cases, and unless otherwise indicated, your deposit is transferable if you notify us in writing 120 before your trip departs.

Be sure to check the ‘What’s Included’ section of the trip you are interested in. Once you get to the departure city and meet the group, we often include most meals, all accommodations, all activities (although there might be an optional activity at an additional cost), transportation while on the adventure, qualified local guide(s) and some trips also include an AdventureWomen Ambassador. Our trips do not include airfare to/from the arrival and departure cities. However, internal flights are included in some itineraries so please read the itinerary carefully.

Absolutely! In fact, we encourage it! Many of the women who travel with AdventureWomen come solo. For those that do not choose a single supplement, we pair you with a roommate. Usually, when we change accommodations on a trip, we will change roommates if we can, so you get a chance to know others in our group. A limited number of single supplements may be available for an additional charge.

That depends entirely on the trip! AdventureWomen adventure travel trips are rated according to the physical fitness level demanded by the included activities.

  • Moderate: These adventures exercise your mind more than your body and are designed for women who prefer a leisurely, less rigorous experience. For example, you could walk up to 2 miles per day through cities and villages, stand in museums for a few hours, relax on a boat, or view wildlife from a vehicle.
  • Active: Adventures that get you on your feet! You should be in good physical condition where you are comfortable walking on uneven surfaces, such as cobblestone streets, biking manicured nature trails or kayaking calm waters.
  • High Energy: These adventures are designed for women who enjoy a physical challenge and crave being on the go! You should be prepared for itineraries that include (but are not limited to): a full day of biking on a rolling terrain, hiking 5-8 miles on moderate to steep trails, being active at high altitudes, whitewater rafting, or skiing.
  • Challenging: Adventures that get your heart rate pumping, these are demanding yet deeply rewarding and designed for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts. You should be in excellent physical condition, and be able to hike up to 10 miles, in steeper, more rugged terrain.
