Trip Overview
Cruise around Croatia’s coastal islands and turquoise waters by private boat while exploring the charming Dalmatian Coast. Visit tiny stone villages in Croatia with enchanting castles, walk cobbled paths, and learn Old Europe’s rich history against the Adriatic Sea’s dramatic backdrop.
Experience the joy of island hopping between the many colorful islands of Croatia, then drop anchor to explore Croatia’s incredible historical sites as you tour the Dalmatian Coast on a deluxe sailboat chartered exclusively for AdventureWomen! Wake every day surrounded by the intoxicating blue of the Adriatic Sea, enjoy busy days seeing the sights, then fall asleep to the lapping waves and ping of halyards against the mast. Every day is perfect for fun in these crystal-clear waters, too. Whether you’re island hopping, swimming, paddle boarding, or relaxing on the beach, the waters of the Adriatic are so enticing it will be hard to stay out of them!
To visit the Eastern European gem of Croatia is to walk through centuries of conquests and change. Masters of building anything from stone, pre-Christian Romans settled here on unforgiving, rocky terrain to produce lasting testaments of their ingenuity. Rising around their extraordinary temples and castles, outstanding examples of medieval, Baroque, and Renaissance architecture, urban planning, and ancient cobbled roadways have been thankfully preserved.
Croatia and the Dalmatian Coast, Split, & Trogir
This cruising adventure in Croatia follows the Dalmatian Coast beginning with Split, a city known for its many ancient sites. A particularly masterful artifact is the exquisitely arched and cobbled limestone Palace of Diocletian, built for Dalmatia-born Roman emperor Diocles. Meet your Croatian guide in Split, who will help you discover the history and beauty of the coastline throughout the week! You’ll meet other incredible individuals on your journey. They will help make your experience a fun and personally fulfilling adventure and will cheer you on as you reach beyond your comfort zone and embrace new challenges!
Once everyone’s on board, cruise to Trogir, a medieval walled UNESCO World Heritage Site, where Romanesque, Renaissance and Baroque details abound, and café life is lively. Hunt for waterfalls in the hilly Krka National Park before visiting the wine country and fishing village of lesser-known Vis. Enjoy wine tastings here before anchoring near Bisevo Island to explore the deep Blue Grotto. You’ll have time during the week to just swim off the boat, try out a paddleboard, or grab a pool noodle and just noodle around in the crystal clear water.
Korcula, Mljet, & Dubrovnik
Medieval and less touristic Korcula cuts a lasting impression on you with its crenulated defensive towers and pretty village square, while nearby, Mljet is a standout as Croatia’s greenest island. Known for its olive groves, goat cheese, and vineyards, it’s the perfect stage for a three-hour hiking and biking excursion.
You round out your Croatia cruising trip in walled, medieval Dubrovnik, a city as photogenic as it is historic, sitting atop Croatia’s jagged coastline and overlooking the Adriatic. Walk the high walls for breathtaking views, visit the Old Town in Dubrovnik and buy succulent fresh fruits in the city’s outdoor market. You’ll moor the boat off the port of Dubrovnik for your final night, celebrating among your new AdventureWomen friends as you toast the exotic sights, delicious fresh foods, and your Croatian adventure fun, a special bond now shared by all!
With 1,000 islands set in a sparkling sea of heavenly blue, the Dalmatian Coast is your perfect destination for swimming, sunbathing, and exploring ancient villages that survived centuries of change. Croatia is a true European jewel you shouldn’t miss discovering with AdventureWomen.
