After arriving in Venice, meet your expert Italian guide and travel together through the scenic countryside to your cozy chalet in the alpine village of Cima Sappada. Enjoy Local Dairy and Mount Ferro Hut!

Begin your first full day in the Dolomites with a scenic hike to the Mount Ferro hut, climbing 1,300 feet over two rewarding hours. Along the way, learn about the unique Dolomite Rock that gives these mountains their name and UNESCO World Heritage status. Pause midday at a mountain dairy farm for a fresh, local lunch before descending back to your village hotel. Spend the afternoon relaxing or exploring at your own pace—dinner tonight is on your own.

Into the Heart of the Dolomites

Continue your journey deeper into the Dolomites with a challenging and rewarding hike toward the striking Mount Peralba, near the Austrian border. Gain approximately 3,000 feet in elevation as you follow scenic alpine trails, pausing along the marmot trail for a picnic lunch surrounded by breathtaking views. By afternoon, arrive at Calvi Hut (7,110’), your cozy mountain refuge for the night. Unwind with dinner and share stories from the trail.

Across the Rugged Dolomites

Today’s hike takes you through some of the most dramatic terrain in the Dolomites. Set out from your mountain hut and trek across rocky ridgelines and alpine passes before descending through lush, forested valleys. Along the way, pause to take in sweeping views that capture the raw beauty of these mountains. After a rewarding day on the trail, arrive at your next cozy hut for a well-earned dinner and rest.
Today’s hike: 11–12 miles; approximately 6 hours; 2,500 feet of elevation gain and 6,000 feet of descent.

Yoga and Mount Coglians

This morning, we enjoy some leisure time at the Malga (an optional yoga class is available), before heading to Rifugio Marinelli on the slopes of Mount Coglians, the highest peak in Friuli region. Once arrived, enjoy lunch at the hut. The afternoon is at leisure: either relax or, you can join an excursion to explore the paths surrounding the refuge.

From Mountain Trails to Alpine Villages

Journey from the high peaks back toward the charming valleys of the Dolomites, passing through authentic mountain villages with rooftiles shaped like fish scales. From there, a private transfer takes you to Piani di Vas, where a short, scenic hike leads to the welcoming Malga Tuglia. Settle in, relax, and savor dinner surrounded by alpine tranquility.

Forests and Peaks of the Degano Valley

Today’s adventure takes you deep into the heart of the Degano Valley, where towering centuries-old beech trees create a serene canopy overhead. Hike through vibrant green forests and along gentle riverbanks, gaining 3,200 feet of elevation before descending 700 feet toward your mountain hut. Pause midday to enjoy a peaceful picnic lunch surrounded by alpine beauty. This evening, share stories and dinner with your fellow travelers at your cozy hut.
Travel Note: Since Malga Tuglia is not accessible by vehicle, luggage will be transported separately from Vuezzis to the hotel in Pesariis. Guests should bring one light backpack with everything needed for the overnight stay.

Summiting Mount Talm and Exploring Pesariis

Continue your hike through the scenic Pesarina Valley, winding your way toward the charming village of Pesariis, known as the “town of the clocks.” Check into your farmhouse for the next two nights, then enjoy a walking tour to get acquainted with the village. Spend the rest of the day exploring at your leisure—dinner tonight is on your own.

Spend your last full day with a relaxing morning in Pesariis at your own pace: stroll through the charming village, take in the valley views, or simply enjoy some quiet time. Lunch is on your own today. In the afternoon, hop on a public bus to visit an artisanal laboratory, where you’ll discover the craft behind traditional musical instruments. Return to your farmhouse in the evening for a festive farewell dinner, celebrating the incredible sights, adventures, and memories you’ve shared with your fellow travelers during your Dolomites journey

Bach Boutique Hotel

Renovated at the end of 2021, this hotel offers ten modern rooms and is located on the main street of Sappada.

Rifugio Calvi

Farmhouse Sot La Napa

The welcoming Farmhouse Sot la Napa is in a restored home built in the 1600s. Stay in the comfortable rooms and admire the original frescos and local stone floors as well as a typical “fogolar” (open fireplace).

AMENITIES: complimentary toiletries, hair dryer. Wi-Fi does not work well.

Rifugio de Gasperi

The refuge serves as a base for splendid ascents on the peaks of the Pesarine Dolomites, such as Clap Grant, Creton, and Lastron di Culzei. Next to the De Gasperi Refuge is the Botanical Garden of Clap Grant, where about 200 species of mountain plants are collected, from the most common to the protected ones, increasingly difficult to find elsewhere. Among others, there are medicinal and poisonous plants, orchids, and lilies.

Absolutely! You belong here. AdventureWomen welcomes all women and individuals who identify as part of the women’s community. We celebrate all races, backgrounds, orientations, abilities, and ages. Our adventures reflect the vibrant diversity of our travelers.

You can process your registration on our online booking system or over the phone. Most deposits are $800. In many cases, and unless otherwise indicated, your deposit is transferable if you notify us in writing 120 before your trip departs.

Be sure to check the ‘What’s Included’ section of the trip you are interested in. Once you get to the departure city and meet the group, we often include most meals, all accommodations, all activities (although there might be an optional activity at an additional cost), transportation while on the adventure, qualified local guide(s) and some trips also include an AdventureWomen Ambassador. Our trips do not include airfare to/from the arrival and departure cities. Internal flights are included.

Absolutely! In fact, we encourage it! Many of the women who travel with AdventureWomen come solo. For those that do not choose a single supplement, we pair you with a roommate. Usually, when we change accommodations on a trip, we will change roommates if we can, so you get a chance to know others in our group. A limited number of single supplements may be available for an additional charge.

That depends entirely on the trip! AdventureWomen adventure travel trips are rated according to the physical fitness level demanded by the included activities.

  • Level One: Easy Pace Our Easy Pace trips are thoughtfully designed for women who enjoy gentle activity, cultural immersion, and plenty of time to savor the scenery. They feature light walking, easy terrain like cobblestone streets or flat nature trails, and optional activities such as city tours, wildlife safaris, and scenic boat rides. This level offers a relaxed pace with flexible itineraries and minimal physical exertion.
  • Level Two: Moderate For women who enjoy staying active, balanced with some downtime, our Moderate trips offer a blend of movement and relaxation. Activities may include walking on gently rolling trails, with occasional uneven terrain like forest paths or shallow creek crossings. With activities like beginner kayaking or short e-bike excursions, this level is perfect for those eager to explore while trying something new.
  • Level Three: Dynamic Designed for adventurous women ready for a challenge, our Dynamic trips feature regular activity on varied terrain with moderate elevation gains. Expect natural obstacles such as rocky paths and shallow creek crossings. From glacier walks and whitewater rafting to ziplining and kayaking in calm to lightly-choppy waters, this level is perfect for those with hiking and outdoor experience and a sense of adventure.
  • Level Four: High Energy Our High Energy adventures are designed for women who crave being on the go! You should be prepared for full days of hiking across rugged, moderate-altitude terrain. With some steeper inclines and rocky paths, these trips often feature back-to-back adrenaline-fueled activities like canyoneering, multi-day treks, and Class IV whitewater rafting—perfect for experienced adventurers and hikers with good stamina and a passion for pushing their limits.
  • Level Five: Challenging Our Challenging trips are crafted for seasoned adventurers ready to take on remote, high-altitude terrain, and full-day treks. These trips are demanding yet deeply rewarding and designed for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts. You should be in excellent physical condition and be able to hike up to 14 miles per day with steep ascents, rugged trails, and elevations reaching 19,500 feet. These are strenuous trips that require endurance and a commitment to training before departure.

A trip extension is an optional add-on to your main AdventureWomen itinerary. Extensions allow you to explore a destination more deeply, visit nearby regions, or enjoy additional activities before or after your scheduled trip.
