Q: How do I register and pay for my adventure travel trip with AdventureWomen?
A: Call us! We can process your registration over the phone. Our deposits are $800 for most departures and may be transferable. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express over the phone, or you are welcome to mail us a personal check if you prefer. The final balance of payment for your adventure vacation will be due 90 days prior to your departure, in a cash form – check, money order, or wire transfer.

Q: Can I reserve a spot before I commit to going?
A: Our spots are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, please give us a call!

Q: Can I come by myself?
A: Absolutely! In fact, we encourage it! Most of the women who travel with AdventureWomen come solo. We do not charge single supplements, so no need to worry about that extra cost for women traveling solo! We do pair you with a roommate but usually, when we change accommodations on a trip, we will change roommates, so you get a chance to know others in our group.

Q: I have some dietary restrictions, is that okay?
A: We can certainly accommodate most dietary needs; vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, etc. Be sure to tell us your limitations and we will make sure you are taken care of. If you have more specific or unusual dietary needs, be sure to ask us before registering and we will look into it!

Q: What’s included in the price of your adventure vacations?
A: Be sure to check the ‘What’s Included’ section of the trip you are interested in. Once you get to the departure city and meet the group, we often include most meals, all accommodation, all activities (although there might be a optional activity at an additional cost), transportation while on the adventure, qualified guide(s) and an AdventureWomen Ambassador. Most of our trips do not include airfare to/from the departure city. However, internal flights are included in some itineraries so please read the itinerary carefully.

Q: Do you help with flight reservations?
A: Yes, we would be delighted to help you with your flights and any other travel arrangements you need to make. Just give us a call!

Q: Do I need travel insurance?
A: Because the unforeseen and unexpected can occur – before you leave or when you’re away from home – we strongly encourage you to purchase travel insurance to protect your vacation investment. We work with TravelGuard and they have several plans offering different levels of coverage. To find out more, please click here.

Q: How long have you been leading adventure travel vacations for women?
A: AdventureWomen was the very first company to offer adventure travel vacations, just for women, beginning in 1982. After 40 years of worldwide adventure, we now have highly trained ambassadors and guides leading our groups all over the world to ensure safety, timeliness and direction. The first and still the best since 1982!

Q: Why are your adventure trips exclusively for women-only?
A: Because women in any culture relish the freedom to experience new things away from limiting, societal expectations. We have a unique sense of discovery, an unabashed curiosity, the easy ability to laugh at ourselves, and the capacity to create a non-competitive environment of support and encouragement for each other. Under these circumstances, women feel free to challenge themselves with a trek up a mountain, learning to snorkel or scuba dive, or immersion in an unfamiliar culture. On an all-women’s trip, women tell us that they can be totally and unequivocally themselves.

Q: Are your trips open to all women?
A: Absolutely! We happily welcome all women regardless of race, creed, or sexual preference, as long as you are physically capable of doing the activities your chosen trip. It is important to us to talk to each guest to make sure each woman chooses the right trip for her physical ability and interest.

Q: How in shape do I have to be to go on one of your adventures?
A: That depends entirely on the trip! AdventureWomen adventure travel trips are rated according to the physical fitness level demanded by the included activities.

  • Moderate: These adventures exercise your mind more than your body and are designed for women who prefer a leisurely, less rigorous experience. For example, you could walk up to 2 miles per day through cities and villages, stand in museums for a few hours, relax on a boat, or view wildlife from a vehicle.
  • Active: Adventures that get you on your feet! You should be in a good physical condition where you are comfortable walking on uneven surfaces, such as cobblestone streets, biking manicured nature trails or kayaking calm waters.
  • High Energy: These adventures are designed for women who enjoy a physical challenge and crave being on the go! You should be prepared for itineraries that include (but are not limited to): a full day of biking on a rolling terrain, hiking 5-8 miles on moderate to steep trails, being active at high altitudes, whitewater rafting, or skiing.
  • Challenging: Adventures that get your heart rate pumping, these are demanding yet deeply rewarding and designed for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts. You should be in excellent physical condition, and be able to hike up to 10 miles, in steeper, more rugged terrain.
